Summary

This is a professional level position that is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating an integrated service delivery system for the Career Counseling Services within the Buffalo Employment and Training Center. Requires specific knowledge of the services and goals of the Workforce Investment Act (WIOA) and the services and goals of WIOA Partner Agencies. Insures that job-seeking customers are provided with high quality skills assessment, career planning, career counseling, case management, job search, job retention and follow-up services.

Assigns caseloads and related duties and coordinates activities of youth workforce programming that will lead to long term employment and self-sufficiency. Assists Career Counselors through individual and group conferences in analyzing case problems and in improving their diagnostic, counseling, and service delivery skills.

In addition to performing the functions of youth workforce programming, this position requires the individual to interact with representatives from area agencies, governmental organizations and employers to determine the appropriate services, skills, training and knowledge job seekers needed for local employment opportunities and job retention. Responsible for maintaining all career counseling schedules and records to insure all job seeking customers are scheduled for and receive services in a timely and responsive manner and that all necessary follow-up is being provided. Track, analyze, and report performance data. Develops resources and coordinates activities with Partner and community agencies to ensure that job retention and supportive services are provided to customers.

This position involves significant supervisory and management responsibilities. The position requires knowledge of interviewing and skill assessment techniques, career aptitude and interest tests, test interpretation, development of career plans, and career counseling techniques and practices, job search techniques, job retention techniques, follow-up services, community and partner services and eligibility. This position involves the use of significant independent judgment to insure the services and outcomes of the Buffalo Employment and Training Center reflect planned service levels and high customer satisfaction. Salary $60,000-$70,000
