James Finamore, Executive Director of the Buffalo
and Eire County Workforce Investment Board and
Salvatore LaGreca, Director of the Buffalo and Erie
County Workforce Development Consortium, jointly
announced today that the Buffalo & Eire County
Workforce Development Consortium (WDC) has been
certified as a Workforce New York agency by the New
York State Department of Labor because of the
comprehensive, high-quality workforce preparation
resources and services it provides to local job
seekers and businesses. The WDC oversees the
operation and administration of two full service One
Stop Service Centers located in Buffalo (The Buffalo
Employment and Training Center) and in Orchard Park
(Erie Community College Employment and Training
Center).
“Everything that
entry level, semi-professional, professional and
skilled workers need to find employment, and that
businesses need to find qualified employees and
employee services, is available at our One Stop
Centers,” explained Mr. Finamore. Mr. LaGreca added,
“Our certification-awarded only to agencies that
pass a rigorous process – insures that our clients
receive professional, knowledgeable, and reliable
service.” Workforce New York certification is valid
for 2 years, at which time the agency must reapply.
