The First Visit to BETC by newly elected Congressman Brian M. Higgins

Newly elected Congressman from New York State's 27th Congressional District, Brian M. Higgins visited the Buffalo Employment and Training Center (BETC) and was impressed with the services and resources provided by BETC to both jobseekers and employers.

As he toured the state-of the-art facility, Colleen Cummings, Director of BETC, described the community's continuing need for One-Stop Center services such as funding for training, free Internet access, job search workshops, computer training, and various on-site partner agencies who provide services to job seekers in one central location.

Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Investment Board Executive Director James Finamore and Workforce Development Consortium Administrative Director Ronald J. Baia also spoke with the Congressman on the importance of continued federal funding for the One-Stop System so that the valuable job search and placement services of the One-Stop Centers can continue.
