During the last several years, our Centers (BETC and
YO) here in Buffalo have been a must see for
visitors from Russia and Poland, as part of a
visitor’s program sponsored by the United States
Department of State. The following is an excerpt
from the report on the recent Polish delegation
visit to BETC submitted by the Polish interpreter to the Office of Educational and
Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State in
Washington, D.C. “What was theoretical in
Washington, D.C. materialized in Buffalo, where the
visitors set foot into a one-stop job center. They
entered Buffalo Employment and Training Center and
stopped dead in their tracks. They were surrounded
by a whirlwind of controlled activity, permeated by
a sense of purpose and hope. Admittedly, they
started feeling pangs of jealousy. They began making
plans of adopting the model to the Polish ground.” • • •
